A bathroom is the hardest room in the house to tile well. It is small, so every cut shows. It is wet, so every shortcut eventually leaks. And it is full of obstacles, drains, vanities, door thresholds, that decide where your layout has to start.

Most bathroom tile failures are not tile failures. They are movement. An older Jersey home sitting on a wood subfloor flexes, and tile does not flex with it. So before anything gets set we check deflection, add an uncoupling membrane where it is needed, and make sure the surface is flat. Tile laid over a floor that moves will crack, and no grout color fixes that.
We dry-lay the field and find the center before mixing thinset. That way full tiles land where the eye goes, and the slivers end up behind the toilet instead of across the doorway. It takes an extra hour and it is the difference between a bathroom that looks installed and one that looks designed.
Three things move the number: the tile you choose, the size of the space, and what we find under the old floor. Large format, marble and herringbone cost more to install than a standard field tile because they take longer to set, not because the material is dearer. Nobody can price tile off a photograph, so we measure in person and give you one flat number in writing before anything starts.
