Cookies, and the browser storage that works like them, are small pieces of data a site keeps on your device. This site uses one of them, and it is there because of the notice you were shown.
What is stored without asking
One value, recording the answer you gave to the cookie notice. It is stored in your browser and nowhere else, it contains no name, no number and nothing that identifies you, and its only job is to stop the notice appearing on every page. Removing it would mean asking you the same question over and over, which is why it does not need consent.
| Name | Purpose | Kept for | Needs consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| pt-consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined measurement. | Twelve months, or until you clear your browser storage. | No. It exists to honour your answer. |
What happens only if you accept
If you accept, the site may load analytics that count page views so we can see which articles and which service pages people actually read, and write the rest accordingly. Until you accept, no analytics script is loaded at all: not held back, not anonymised, not loaded. Nothing is placed on your device by an advertising network at any point, whatever you answer.
We do not run advertising or social media trackers on this site, and we do not sell or share what a visit tells us.
Changing your answer
You can change it whenever you like.
You can also clear site data or block storage for this site in your browser settings. Doing so removes the record of your answer, so the notice will appear again on your next visit.
Server logs
Separately from cookies, our host records requests to the server, which includes your IP address and the page requested. That happens with every website and cannot be switched off without switching off the site. The Privacy Policy explains it.
